iSticky

3

iSticky is your full-featured memo assistant and able to help you in many ways. You can stick little notes on your own desktop, and on other desktops too. The possibility of sticking notes in three different ways may offer you the ideal solution for little messages at home, school or the office. Sometimes memos are urgent, or just have to be sent to someone that is not in front of his/her Mac.

Note vs. email

Notes are notes, mail is mail. Emails are often very cumbersome. Short messages and reminders should be written in notes, not in emails. And when people don't agree with that, send an iSticky note to their email address using SMTP.

Archive

Archive every note you want to keep. iSticky has an unlimited searchable archive to store notes in. Avoid losing notes, or keep notes separate till you need them. Or keep a copy of the notes you have sent. Notes can easily be placed back on your desktop or sent to your iPod.

Elegant themes

Give your notes a customized appearance. iSticky comes with several default themes for your notes. But it also provides a lot options for making your own themes. So, stick creatively!

Categorize

Keep things tidy. You can create as many categories as you want. This allows you to differentiate among notes for e.g. work, school, home, shoplists, etc. You can choose which categories you want to be visible and also link a category to a layer.

Layers

Define the sticky areas. Place incoming notes anywhere you want on your screen(s). With the possibility of different layers, iSticky enables you to keep your notes together when they are from the same categories.

Finder selection

Link notes to documents. The possibility of Finder selection allows you to link notes to documents. Simply drop a document on a note and the link is made. Every time you select that file in the Finder, the note will come to the front after the amount of time you specify. This option allows you to attach comments to as many documents as you want.

Remind me

Let notes serve as reminders. Every note can have an alarm. If you don't like the old-fashioned beep, let a note "shake" when its alarm goes off, to attract your attention. Or, if you want, have a note change its category. By changing its category, a note can become visible or change locations on your desktop. iSticky enables you to keep your notes together when they are from the same categories.

AES encryption

Use encryption whenever desired. If you want to be sure that your notes are not read by others, encrypt your data with 128 bit AES encryption. iSticky lets you encrypt notes on your hard disk, when sent via the iStickyServer, as well as the notes your send over LAN or WAN. When sending an encrypted note, enter the encryption key in both the sender and recipient's contact lists.

iStickySubServer

  1. With this tool we enable iSticky to send your notes to a central point in your own local network.

  2. iStickySubServer is free and very basic. You can use it on every local network with every license type of iSticky 3 or higher.

  3. iSticky will find this server on your network automatically, using the Bonjour technique of Apple, Inc. In the preferences of the server tool you can set its name and portnumber.

iStickyServer

  1. With iStickyServer we will help you to get your notes to other people and/or send your SMS to every cellphone on the globe.

  2. An account is 100% free. There are no Ad’s and we will not make private info public.

  3. iSticky and iStickyServer communicate over the Internet using port 12300.

  4. Because we are running the only iStickyServer on internet yet, all accounts are maintained by us. So, if somebody spams you, we can contact him/her and delete their account if they continue to misbehave. Alternatively, you can put people on your own iSticky blacklist. Doing this stops the person from sending any note to you.

  5. All your notes will be encrypted by default using Base64. If you want more security you have the option of encrypting your notes with the well known 128 bits AES standard. The key for this encryption is only stored on your Mac. Notes sent by you to someone else can also be encrypted. This key is also stored on your Mac and of course must be known by the person wishing to decrypt your notes.

Some features

Internet

Send notes worldwide to other iSticky users. With a free account on our iStickyServer, you can send your notes worldwide to any other person with an account. Use iStickyServer to keep your own notes in sync as well. This makes it possible to have the same notes at the office and at home.

SMS

SMS your notes to a mobile phone. The ability to use Short Message Service is tightly integrated into iSticky. You can send an SMS like you were sticking a note. SMS credits can be added to your iStickyServer account.

Really sticky notes

No accidental editing by mouse or keystroke. The notes you stick with iSticky are different from most other desktop notes. Because you have to double-click to edit them, you don't have to be scared you'll delete or edit text without wanting to do so.

LAN / Bonjour

Stick real-time notes over your LAN. Using Apple's Bonjour technique, iSticky lets you send your notes to all your network computers which also use iSticky. The notes will appear immediately on their screens. This is the perfect way to remind your colleague to call a customer back.
